C. Jakarta Develops Fisheries Potential Through Ornamental Fish Breeding

Head of Cental Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Department, Muljadi acknowledged currently the development of potential fisheries continues to be done for several farmers group under the auspicious of Central Jakarta. The potential fisheries itself divided into two groups that are ornamental fish and consuming fish.
"We have such a good potential ornamental fisheries for instance on Jl Gunung Sahari Utara that have 60 stalls, Jl Sumenep, Menteng as well as Cempaka Putih," he uttered, Thursday (5/14).
According to Muljadi, ornamental fish breeding could give high economy value. Particularly, in one of betta fish (ikan cupang) breeding groups at RW 07, Petojo Utara Urban Village, Gambir. Moreover this group has supplied overseas for export demand and worth thousand million.
"Fish for consuming demand does exist, for instance catfish breeding site in Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, but since it does not have such quite large land, thus its potential not good enough," he disclosed.
